Lily's Medical Exam

On Monday, May 23rd we started our first full day in Guangzhou with Lily's medical examination that is required before we can take her in to the US. The examination office is just down the street from our hotel so we walked there. It was a little cool and breezy in Guangzhou and I am understanding that we are pretty lucky because it has been super hot and sticky here lately. Here is the office where we were going...
It is not just a place for adoption medical exams, it is also a little health clinic for the general population as well so when we walked in, there were swarms of people wearing masks and looking pretty sick. Jeff was a little freaked out and didn't want to expose Lily to too many germs so we tried to rush through the swarms.

It was a super quick medical check-up with a hearing and vision screening (very rudimentary), weight and length, heart and lung auscultation and a diaper area check.

Lily weighed in at 5.9 kg (13.3 lbs) with her clothes and diaper on and 24.4 inches. She has gained 2 lbs since we met her! I thought she looked pudgier :). The doctor said she may have a small umbilical hernia and she is still congested from her cold. She had no fever and the doctor agreed that it is probably just a common cold. Her nose is still pretty full of boogies so I'm thinking she may be having a hard time getting over the change in air quality and may have some allergies. We will have her checked over well at the International Adoption Clinic as soon as we get home.

The exam lasted less than 20 minutes but it pooped our little diva out.
