Wonderful Weekend at the Beach!

Jeff lucked into a medical conference this weekend at the BEACH!! That meant a mini vacation for me and Dad. So on Friday we hopped into the car and began our 2 1/2 adventure. Of course there is a web album to document our journeys (click on the picture to view the album)...

Destin-April 2007

Some highights are:

• Steak 'n Shake in Montgomery with the septic tank being emptied (peeee-ewwwwww)
• Sunset on the beach on Friday night with brewskies
• Saturday morning's walk on the beach (Nic and Dad) with Dad jumping in the ocean
• Dad deciding to go on the inflatable kiddie slide (and cheating by sneaking in with no pass)
• Our bike ride through the resort and sore booties to follow
• Jeff rejoining us for lunch at Pompano Joe's on the beach (more brewskies)
• Shopping at the Outlet Mall - woohoo!
• Saturday afternoon nap (2 hours while the bad weather rolled in)
• Torrential downpours on Saturday night while we sat in a beach side restaurant with live music and a tin roof (imagine the sound of rain and some great karaoke) - oh - and more brewskies
• Sunday morning - Nic and Dad having breakfast at the Broken Egg Cafe - lots of coffee and yummy bagels
• Dad and Nic taking a hike on the nature trail and climbing the treehouse with 40 mph winds
• More outlet shopping!!!
• Another shot at Steak 'n Shake
• The Peach Park in Clanton with homemade ice cream and fried pies to die for (yes it was an eat-fest)
• Coming home - boohoo - back to real life
